These are the squidlings (for those who have not been introduced).
The Green guy on the left is Gleam, the orange gal is Sporange.
Kayla's boyfriend made them for her for Valentine's day.
She loves them, and they go everywhere with her!
One morning this past week, while I was riding home on the bus from a nice breakfast date with my Love, I got a text. It was a rather worried, urgent message... Actually, Here, I will let you experience the morning first hand. It was a bit scary for a bit.

That's what I thought, but I checked everywhere
Weird that I'd leave her and just take Gleam

Poor squid girl should be home in ten. I didn't see her when I was straightening up this morn but maybe lily thought she wanted to play
Kayla Rooke
He was like, Mom, where's my sister? And then I looked EVERYWHERE

Ok you are sure she isn't in back pack hiding
I don't see her on sofa still looking
Kayla Rooke
Is she on the floor under the table, by any chance?
Under sofa, or on side table?
In crack between side table and sofa?
Only way she'd be in my backpack is if she turned invisible
Tamara Love Haser
Ok come over stop at desk ask if they have seen her just in case show them greeny So they understand

Tamara Love Haser
Well hopefully since it was late at night it would have been an adult
Kayla Rooke
If we can't find her, I'll create lost papers and have dad (or logan and Krystin) find someone to translate it into chinese, and stuff them in everyone's mailbox ;-;
Tamara Love Haser
Do you remember taking them out of your back pack last night where was gleamers this morning

hmn well if find it highly unlikely that you would tuck greeny in, and not notice ori was missing? she has to be there
-----
The morning culminated with a very sad Kayla and Green bean (as I call Gleam) coming over. Little Ori (Sporange) was NO Where to be found. We headed back to her flat. I was pretty sure she HAD to be there! I turned Kayla's room upside down. No little squid hiding anywhere. It didn't make sense. Then it occurred to me, the washing machine was running in the other room. I walked over to the machine, looked in, sure enough there was a happy little squid playing in the suds! Oh my! I had been telling the squids they were getting a bit stinky and needed a bath, but apparently Ori took matters into her own tentacles.
She cleans up very nice, if I do say so!
The moral of the story, you need to watch your squidlings around water!
