Krystin's Senior Prom!

End of the School Year approaches,
and with it the end of a huge Chapter (more like novel) in my life....

Each event is a reminder that it is the last of it's sort.
The last time I will be a Mom to a 'kid'...
----

Krystin's Senior Prom

Krystin wanted to go 'Greek' for Prom and I believe she did so beautifully.

We ordered the dress online, without her even trying it on.
Perfect fit, great dress.... Loved it.

and because we are American and our feet are so much bigger than those of the local Asian people,
I bought her shoes in the state when I was visiting Todd without her trying them on.
They were perfect! (Thankfully!)

This was the last time I will be able to help one of my girls shop for a school dance dress (in high school).
The last time I was  able to do hair and make-up (in high school).
I am so thankful that Krystin let me!

Some pics (borrowed from Krystin's FB page) of the night:

With her friend and the school principal.

Krystin decided for prom to go with a large group of her girlfriends.
They rented a suite at the Hotel the prom was held at and enjoyed their evening together.

Oh, and the theme for Krystin's Senior Prom:
'Midnight in Paris'
OF COURSE! (:

Todd and I were so happy to be able to escort her to the Hotel down in Mong Kong where it was being held, and we might have been a little teary too...
Our baby.

She had a wonderful night and I couldn't get over how beautiful and grown-up she looked!

Track Finals! (last one in High school)

It is hard to believe my days as a high school "Track" Mom are over....

Krystin ran her last high school race.

Her very last Track Final!

I am actually sad those days are over.  I love watching my kids run.

It should be noted that she almost didn't even participate in Track (her favorite sport) this year,
due to over obligation as a Senior High School (in ASIA) student...

She was designed to run though that girl.

Even with minimal, and I mean minimal like maybe one to two days of training a week (and without a coach) she still decided she would participate for the sake of participating all 4 years...

The Track Finals are against all the other International Schools.

Some of which are INTENSE competition and have professional running coaches.

I happened to be in the states with Todd the day of the Finals (which KILLED ME),
but thanks to modern technology I was able to be up all night and cheer with her virtually.

Hong Kong does Track Prelims and Finals in such a STRANGE way.

They have Prelims for some events on a Monday, and some the same day as the Final which happens to be the next day, Tuesday.  There is no recovery time.

Monday for Prelims it was rainy and humid.
Krystin qualified for the 100m with a crazy fast time of 12.6 second.
She really wasn't ever able to run the 100 in CA, as it is always right before her main even the 400m,
so she didn't even really know how fast she was in that event.
Tuesday she had to run the 200m prelim (which she qualified for the final same day).
The 100m Final, 200m final and the 400m final, she qualified for 400m final the day before.
(confused? yah, me too)...

The day of the final it was HOT and SUNNY.

Krystin went into the finals with the attitude to just do her best and have fun!

Apparently, the way Krystin has fun is coming home with bling.

She took home the GOLD in ALL OF HER EVENTS!

Unbelievable!

Gold in the 100 meter
Gold in the 200 meter
Gold in the 400 meter

Triple GOLD!!!

Holy Heck!  That girl is fast!

What a way to end her High School Track Career!

She earned the privilege of this position 3 times!

It is hard to tell, but she is wearing THREE Gold medals!

She earned a bit of celebrity status at her school too.
It is the first time in the school history that they have ever had a student win three Golds.

She didn't know it, but they had Posters made of HER,
and then asked her to be a motivational speaker for the Elementary students.

I am excited to say I have the poster as a keepsake.

What a great role model!

Congratulations, Krystin!!
