April... so far

For April Fool's Day this year, Todd and I didn't go all out (no time), but we did trick the kiddos a little. I make the family, usually once a week, those Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls. Well, I pretended I was making them the morning of the 1st, kids were unsuspecting.... Really, Todd ran to our favorite donut store and bought a dozen yummilicious donuts. We snuck them into the oven, while we called the kids down for breakfast - and they LOVED it! It was fun to see the look on their faces when we pulled a box of donuts out of the oven! Lame, I KNOW, but it made me laugh. (:

I was going to make the following for "dinner" - Sushi... Alas, there was no time, so we had it as a treat this past weekend. I got the idea from FamilyFun magazine online.

Last week we very EXCITED to find out that Krystin was elected to be the 8th Grade Historian, for the next school year! We know she will do an AWESOME Job!

To Celebrate, we really don't need much an excuse to celebrate, we went had a movie night with fun treats and went to the Arboretum. The Arboretum is a very special place to me. It is where Todd and I went for one of our first dates, with Todd's Grandpa Pai. I have a picture somewhere from that date. I will have to find it. Todd grew up going to the Arboretum, and I was thrilled when he shared that special place with me (along time ago now). It is really neat to be able to share that experience with our children too. It is a very beautiful, peaceful place. I love going there!

Kayla was a trouper, anyone who knows her, knows a day spent out doors appreciating the beauties of nature isn't her thing...

They have a cool exhibit right now, called the "Catawampus"... Check out the Arboretum link above to learn more. It was made as artistic expression of nature.

Can you find the children in the Catawampus?

or the Mommy & Daddy?

Bonus Pic: Logan's slight book obsession...
He spent $50 dollars on used books at the library book store...
