College & Training

We are very excited Kayla will be attending the local Community College this Fall.  She filled out early bird registration and was given a date of last Monday to sign up for classes.   She went online, couldn't get online, so we contacted the school.  Some issue with needing a copy of her social security card (even though she has taken a class there before?).  So, we drop it off, get home, and she has a residency issue and testing issue too.  Seriously.  Well, and apparently, she needs to 'retest for placement'.  So, finally, today hopefully that is all situated and she will be able to register tomorrow!

Still smiling after 3+ hours of testing.

What were we doing while Kayla was testing?
Well, we dropped her off at 8am and headed to T-Street for Boys XC Training.
Since, the boys and girls don't train together (annoyingly),
Krystin trains with the boys on Weds (too far to go to both).
Honestly, she hasn't complained once, and even had a friend that offered to go with today.
Hmn, could it be the cute boys?

Logan insisted I take this pic of the white pigeon.
Logan this one is for YOU

They ran for over an hour, and FAST
then They played games!

The game was separated by grade.
Krystin and Kaitlyn refused to be with the "freshies" to make it easier
They are in 10th grade.
I missed the first pic, but there were 8 10th grade boys at the beginning.
The game is played like musical chairs, but with sticks, and starting position is laying flat on your face.
Coach makes them do a few head lifts, then randomly blows the whistle.
They have to jump up run the opposite direction and grab the sticks (one less than there are kids, get it?)

 Well, Krystin IS a Sprinter...
and
It came down to Krystin and ONE Boy
(who also happens to be a super fast sprinter)
Well, she spared his male ego, and let him win (this time)
That and she miss stepped a little on the spin around, but let me tell you the coach was impressed! LOL

After a morning on the VERY, extremely windy, surprisingly cold Beach
We waited outside the testing room for 45 mins.

Where this boy made Origami balls and tried to start a volley ball game across the walk way.

Til tomorrow.

Boys XC Tryouts

The Boys Cross Country Team had Tryouts for the Fall on Monday.   Todd was gone, so here are a couple pics for him.   It was quite, unusually, warm that morning!

Logan did great! He is the best at pacing I have ever KNOWN.  He paces to finish down to the second, every time.    He was in the top 10, which means he gets special privileges.  More on that later.

Looking forward to an AWESOME season!

Todd is in Philly

I had 5 weeks with Todd 24/7 (yes, including the 2 weeks in Hong Kong).  I was VERY spoiled.  I really like having him home all the time.   Yes, I am totally addicted.  He is my shield against the storms of life, and when he is gone I feel a bit sad and a little naked!

Well, before he left we took the kids to Disneyland with us, for one last celebration of our time with him.  It looks as though the chaos, that is his job will continue.  This week he is in Philly.  Next week, no clue.  Two weeks India.  Third week, he is going with Logan to XC Country camp, YAY!  Should be interesting.

Happy Disney Memory.

Yah, we had ice cream for dinner.

Harry Potter - End Game!

(Ok, I know I am behind, but lets pretend this was posted in a timely manner.)

First of all,
We do NOT usually do the midnight openings of movies.
Camping out all day/night to sit in a seriously crowded theater to see a movie, yuck.
Well, I would rather wait til the next day and catch an uncrowded matinee' normally!

Well, I was informed by our youngest, that it was imperative that we go to this final installment of Harry Potter, the right way, at the midnight showing.  She did present a good case.  It IS the only book series that captivated the entire family for the MANY hours we have driven back and forth between Arizona and California.  Not ONE whine, fight, quip, nada as long as Harry Potter was playing.  The books really are magic.  Also, we have gone as a family and seen all the other previous ones together.  It was only fitting that we celebrated this last movie in the midnight hour, with others.
I couldn't argue.
Krystin even got a little bit luckier.  One of her best friends since Kindergarten happened to be in California that day, and her Daddy allowed us to kidnap her for the movie and let her sleep over.  So, we drove the 1.5 hours to San Diego grabbed her, came back and took the kids to the theater!

The kids did most of the waiting.
Todd and I would just drop off games and sustenance to them!
It was a very fun, lively environment.

Kayla was shocked at the cards she got!

and Yes...
They really did have 'special'
Harry Potter 3D Glasses!
and NO, we did NOT give them back to recycle, as if!

We arrived home around 230am.
Any guess what time these two went to sleep?

It was a wonderful night, with a wonderful friend!
Thanks for the 'insist' Krystin! (:
You were right.  It was awesome!

Krystin's Ears ROUND TWO!

Krystin decided that she wanted to brave getting her ears pierced again!   She had a limited time to decide to do it, as she has to have the earrings in for 6 weeks, but can not wear them in a Cross Country race...   So...  She knew it was NOW or wait another YEAR!

Last time we took her to get her ears pierced she was a bit terrified.  This time she sat with a smile on her face!  Didn't even try to run or anything!  I was so proud!

Almost 3 weeks down, 3 weeks to go!

Looking good!
