Happy Birthday to the SWEETEST little pup, ever.
Not a mean bone in this tiny 5lb body.
She epitomizes joy in life...
Helps me to remember to appreciate the small things,
like fresh air, a beam of sunlight, going for a walk, how wonderful it is to have family near, a good cuddle, and even how awesome something as simple as a little treat can be!
This little girl gives so much more than she ever asks in return.
She makes my heart smile when I see her.
I remember the VERY first moment I saw this baby in person.
My heart practically burst with love.
She didn't walk, she bounced with happiness, joy and a big doggy grin,
somehow contained within that small frame.
Nothing less than pure love and joy.
Todd was with me that day we first met our beloved Honey.
I believe fate wanted us to find her.
I happened by a little post on a chat board mentioning someone looking for a home for Honey.
I saw her picture and knew we had to at LEAST meet her.
Todd was opposed, as he didn't like little dogs (and we did already have 2 LARGE dogs), but agreed after much pleading. He later told me, he knew, once he saw her, we were not going home with out her. Honey was a year old when we first met her. Her 'first' Momma loved her very much, but her life plan changed. She had to leave sweet Hun alone for 14 hours a day, which was not good for Honey.
Honey's first Momma said she had interviewed MANY people interested in sweet Honey, but she wanted Honey to be in a family and be loved. She wanted to know that Honey was going to be with the right family and get lots of attention. We assured her that this sweet baby would be more than loved and that we were the right family. Honey was smart too. Right after we walked into the apartment where Honey was living, we sat down. Honey jumped into Todd's lap and charmed him with her irresistible cuteness. Any issues he had with small dogs melted away, at least in this one special little dog package, that is our Hun!
Since she joined our family...
She has fit seemlessly into our world.
She has gone to the beach, the mountains, the snow.
She grew up in the desert, and became a brave scorpion hunter.
She has been a comfort to us in times of sorrow, and has actually attended 2 funerals.
She has also attended many family functions and holidays.
She is truly a member of our family, one that we are blessed by her presence!
I am grateful every day that I was led to little chat board,
which I had never seen before or since, that led me to finding her.
Happy Birthday my Sweet Honey-Girl.
Momma Loves you. <3 p="p">
