Thanksgiving!

This year, Thanksgiving was a little hectic over here.  Todd & I signed up to make the memory DVD for Cross Country...  Todd and I were going to split it up, but long story short - I ended up making it.  This was no small task.  I probably spent close to 90 hours or so in the last two weeks working on it.  I HOPE everyone likes it...  Anyhow, aside from celebrating my babies birthday, and having Todd's friend Steve and my Dad come stay with us, and going to my Mom's house - that is what I have been up to.
5 DVD burners going to make the 100+ DVDs - Thanks for helping Steve!
 The long drive to Grama's
Pups LOVE to go to Gramas too!

Happy Birthday to Krystin!
Anyone that knows my kids -
knows what book addicts they are!
They were in HEAVEN when Jai gave them two boxes of books.

Misty - My Sister's cat...
Grama making yummy food! Thank you MOM! (:

On the way home, we saw Grampy Davey for a blink.

I have NO clue why there is a ghost in this pic. There was NOTHING there?!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving! (:

Happy 14th Birthday Krystin!

My Baby...
Turned 14 YEARS OLD
on Thanksgiving Day!
I can't believe it!

I AM Very Thankful to have my sweet Krystin in my life!
She adds Sparkle every day. (:

If your birthday is ON Turkey Day...  It is a must that you get a turkey for your birthday!

We special ordered Krystin a 'Turkey' Cake...
But...  The turkey died in it's box before we could take a pic!
No, it wasn't dropped.  It was on the counter untouched, and it died.
Imagine a cute little turkey face there.

Don't worry, it was still delicious!

We all LOVE you SOOO MUCH
&
Are SOOO thankful that you are part of our family!

NYLC & Casting CALL

NYLC - National Young Leadership Conference
Krystin was selected to attend NYLC.
It is a four day conference, where she is together with peers who share in her academic achievement and leadership potential.  There are classes on leadership development, team building, effective communication, and much more for the entire four days.  Krystin has been greatly looking forward to the conference, and while we missed her for the last four days, we are so glad she loved it!

 Krystin with her 'team's' advisers.
They did take a break to have a little fun!
 Some Krystin's new GREAT Friends!

My Mom was able to come celebrate her accomplishment with us!

Casting Call
Logan received his first Casting Call - Audition
Logan looked adorable, and was 'way cool' with his guitar!

He had a fun time auditioning, and it was great that Grama could be there to help with the process!

Oh, and after all that fun - We FINALLY saw Harry Potter...
6 more months ....

My talented Mom. (:

Loganism #2

Logan says random stuff, pretty much all the time.  We love him for it.  He keeps up thinking, and well entertained!

So, I had to share:

Ok, So the kids and I are at Ikea and Logan gets one of his 'thinking' looks on his face, and then he says:

Logan:  Mom, you know how they cryogenically freeze people?
Me:  Yes??
Logan:  Well, if a woman is pregnant when she is frozen.  Would it kill the baby - you know explode its cells, or could they bring the baby back?
Me:  Wow, hmn, theoretically the process should effect the baby the same as the Mom, but I am not sure!

I have no clue what made him think about that as we were entering Ikea, but hey there you go?!

I love that boy!

4 day WEEKEND!

The kids, FINALLY, had a couple days off.   This is their first long weekend, since school started!   Long overdue, if you ask me. (:    We are all exhausted from the business of life, so I thought a little down time would be nice.  The weather is beautiful right now, mid to high 70's.  Allergies are acting up a bit with the warm Santa Ana winds blowing, but still beautiful....

Down time, just means no 'school' - still busy...
Krystin participates, when her schedule allows
in a Leadership group called "Women in Oceanography"
(or "girls in oceanography")
She is on a planning committee that is organizing a big event to heighten the awareness of Marine biology and sciences, especially for young women.  She loves it!
She had to race there, from a friends house.  She and her cross country friend were making special shirts for the race this weekend.
The kids and I had a "French" Brunch.
Logan and Krystin had some deep tissue work done...
Logan has been training with Varsity and is feeling it!
Krystin was told to take another week and HEAL too.
Cross country is brutal, who knew?!

I love outdoor adventures, especially with a bit of education and history too, so I took the kids to the Mission.
Actually, went twice - Kay didn't come the first time.

Krystin communicating with the Koi

Logan speaking the Koi's language!  I am not kidding the Koi mimicked him!

Logan had a special "CIF only" Pasta Party Friday Night, while Kay was at Jiu-Jitzu...

We spent all day Saturday at CIF- Prelims!
Logan's first CIF meet.
He was the first alternate, and didn't have to run - this time,
but he was ready and still earned a PATCH!

We took the kids to dinner and a Movie.
We haven't been able to do that in MONTHS...

Oh, and the kids and I played at IKEA...
My kids are seriously FUNNY!

Kayla was reading them a story in Swedish!

Back to the mission with Kay...
Lo & KC explaining the finer art of Koi communication!
Kayla was a natural!
We checked out the cool Cathedral-like Chapel

 explored the old buildings...

 and very small door frames

Logan tormented the girls....  You figure out how...
 and just enjoyed the day...

maybe a little too much!  (:

Other than Lily finding, and EATING a stick of butter and subsequently vomiting for an entire day, which did make me want to go to IKEA and get some candles, and Todd leaving for DC today (cuz he did) it was a nice weekend....

Why am I so tired???
