Memorial Day

In Memory of those that died for our freedom,
we honor you and thank you for your sacrifice.
I would say, "Happy Memorial Day",
but, Todd said, "Solemn Memorial Day" is more appropriate.
I kind of have to agree.

Last night, I asked the family to join me for a 'Sunset' Picnic on the Beach.
Sunset is like magic to me.
We raced against the Sun to make it there on time.
I did kind of forget that the weather forecast had some silly weather alert
about EXTREME winds at the beach...
Come on weather alert, here?
Yah, the wind was blowing VERY hard and it was so cold.
 but still beautiful...

We brought the pups.
They were SOOO excited!!! (:
Luckily, they couldn't read the 'NO PETS' allowed sign.
It might have made them feel unwanted.
Other people had dogs too, sooo...

We ate quickly, brrr....
Look at the dogs furr blowing, so funny!

Then, we decided to watch the rest of the sunset from the warmth of our car.
Honey and Lily were mesmerized.

Good Night, Mr. Sun - 'til tomorrow.

Ok...  one bonus from our outting...
This beach is not that big.  No camping allowed.
Has plenty of flush toilets...
Yet, someone brought their own Port-a-Potty tent.
Set up right there by the parking lot...
Yes, we had the priviledge of watching someone utilize it!
Awesome...

Today, Todd worked a LOT (yesterday too)...
Then he took a break for the afternoon and evening!
We had our own private BBQ, just us.

We ست اروند فر ا فو هورس اند واتچد ولد تویلیقت زنس اند سیلی موس.  یت واس فن!

Wow, no clue why it typed in whatever language that is, but it says:
We spent the afternoon watching old Twilight Zones, and silly movies.
Trying to make sure our teens are well rounded, LOL!

Here's to a good week.
Next weekend - PROM (Kayla and Logan are both going).
and in other news...
Say it isn't so...  Todd might be going back to Hong Kong for a week or two.
They are still trying to close up the 'initial' phase of this project.  GRRR...
SUPER POUT! :(

Wedding Anniversary!

Did I mention that we have just a little too much going on in May and June?  Well, man-o-man, we really do.   So, Saturday was our Wedding anniversary!  Todd knows I love to go on an 'adventure', so he planned a day where we could go hiking (sort of hiking, not sure if it really counts) at the LA Arboretum, and get Dinner at a place that has the same food that we were able to get in Hong Kong!  Sooo cool!  Oh, and we have had the hardest time finding the desserts that they had in Hong Kong out here, but Todd found a place deep in LA.  The neighborhood was a little on the scary side.  No signs in English or even Spanish - just Asian symbols (good sign for authentic).   Well, the place HAD the desserts and, even if it had a "B", it was awesome.  For those that don't know, California requires all restaurants to display a letter grade given to them buy the Public Health Dept (I believe), and I haven't ever seen anything less than an "A" before...  Hmn, maybe once, but didn't go in! Either way, it was so much fun!   (:  Thanks Todd for a fun day!

One of my favorite pics from the day!
Todd & Peacock Posing!
Awesome!
Seriously, Peacock Day - So fun!
I had never seen baby Peacocks before!
It was video worthy!

 Brilliant Boy, showing off
Yes, he even had a cute bootie...
They had a Bonsai Tree Exhibit - really amazing!

and the 'big' trees were cool too!

 cute little turtles

 Waterfalls

Ok, this is the top of a well.
Ok, the well is kind of in the middle of this desert-like garden.
It looks very, uhm, green...
Then, I noticed there was a sign on top of it -
Don't feed fish bread.
I was like - fish, no way?
Sure enough, there were, which is just ODD!
I set my jacket on the edge of the well, to take this picture.
Yah, my pull-string kind of went in the well, euwww...

Something you don't see everyday.
A baby bunny sunning with a lizard!

Dinner.

The weather was awesome, clouds, but not too cold or hot!

We journeyed home and then watched a movie with the kids.
(:
Here is to a million more Anniversaries!
I love You, Todd!

Kayla's Choral Performance

Kayla had a choral performance at school this past week!
Ok, I have to premise this post with an important fact...
My Sweet Kayla, hates SINGING!
Now, you might wonder how did Kayla end up in Chorus?
Well, she needed a first period class and this was the only option that fit.
She was NOT thrilled, but liked the teacher (she had her for guitar), and decided she would tuff it out...

Well, apparently, she was hoping she would some how get out of the performance or something, because Sunday night as I was asking the kids from the zillionth time if they had everything ready for the week and if there was anything 'important' this week... Kayla says - "Oh, yah, I have dress rehearsal tomorrow and performances on Tues and Weds (btw), and I need a costume."  Aww the joys of parenthood!  Well, luckily between the family we had everything she needed for her costume!  Brother's pants, Mom's shirt and shoes, Dad's socks - PERFECT!

Well, we had NO idea how CUTE it would be, but she was soo adorable!
It was an awesome performance - BOTH Nights!

So cute, and not in order!
