Foreign Fruit: China Pomegranate

In our house we like Pomegranates, so when we came across the CHINESE Pomegranate we were excited to give it a try!!!

Ta - Da!
They are similar in shape to the ones we are accustomed to, but a little smaller and more yellow.

When we opened them up they had the cutest little seeds!
The reflected the color on the outside.
Indy goes CRAZY for normal pomegranates, so we couldn't wait to see what she thought.

She was so excited and LOVED them.
She also gets very mean about it and will claim everyone else's if she can.

These pomegranates (which is annoying to type, btw) have a sweet flavor, but more mild than the ones back home.  They also are much less messy in terms of staining!  However, they are still a challenge to eat. Do you swallow the seeds or not?

Well, while I seriously enjoy a yummy fruit, I will take one of these any day!
These are from the little tiny cupcake place we found in the middle of a business building that happens to also house a Western Grocery store.   They are really so good.
