Kayla's School Update

Kayla has been studying at City Universty of Hong Kong since January as a visiting student.   To be a visiting student you don't have to commit, and the application process is faster and a little easier. That way she could check out if she liked studying out here.

She seems to like it and is adjusting well.  However, studying in English in Hong Kong, isn't like studying in English in the U.S.   She wants to study Japanese, and while they do offer Japanese in English, it really isn't.   She is the only first language English speaker in the class.   Most of the students are from Mainland China, not even Hong Kong.   Her Japanese textbook has the definitions in traditional Chinese (which even the mainland people don't read, they read simplified).  Thus, it makes it a little more challenging.   But, MY KAY is tough as nails!

Since we recently decided we will be staying a bit longer out here, Kay decided that she would go ahead and apply to their Bachelor's degree program at the University, and finish her undergrad studies here.   She recently received an acceptance letter to the program!

We are so excited that she will be able to earn her Bachelor's in Hong Kong!  So cool.   Her hope is to complete her graduate education in Japan.  Yes, she is asking us to start looking into relocating to Japan, near to her grad time.. :)  You never know...

Congratulations to Kayla!  We love you!
