Sometimes, I think that the Karma Fairy is a mere myth.
Do Good
and
Good will come back to you, right???
Actually, most times I think it is a myth,
so,
my rule in life is
Do the right thing, because it is the RIGHT thing to do.
Period.
The golden rule essentially,
"Do unto others, as you would have done unto you."
I don't believe in doing something, to get something in return.
Other than the satisfaction of knowing I had good intentions.
But, sometimes....
The Karma Fairy shows her face, in a nice way.
(Good Karma, Yay!)
Life is a bit overly exhausting right now.
Krystin and Logan are taking accelerated classes, zero period, and Cross Country.
We usually go to bed around 11 and get up by 5am.
Exhausting.
Doesn't leave much energy to promote good in the world.
Todd's schedule is a bit crazy too.
The night before last Todd and I were coming home from an errand at 8pm
and we saw a little black pom in the MIDDLE of the dark street standing there.
I hopped out of the car and grabbed the little girl.
(Todd wasn't thrilled, he needed to focus on work and didn't need another distraction.)
However, cars are always speeding down that street,
and she is BLACK, tiny (like 6 lbs) and it was super dark.
All I could think is that she would have gotten hit by a car.
A pom was killed on our street just a couple months ago even. UGH!
and I would HOPE and Pray someone would rescue one of my babies, if they were out.
Hello, friend! |
She was a bit scared at first,
and it was a little crazy,
but we introduced her to our clan and tried to find her owners.
She did have tags, although they were hard to read.
Logan went with me knocking on the neighbor, who we believed was her home's door.
Nope. No one was home.
And it was getting late....
So tired.
Well, I wrote up a note and taped it to the door.
I won't lie, we did kind of adore the little mud romper.
Apparently, she escaped by digging under the fence.
She was so dirty on the bottom half of her body!
(She even was helpful, and found a black widow hiding near the birds for us, scary!)
Kids were hoping the owners would not come, and we could keep her...
After all, I am always teasing that I need a black pom for my collection!
Finally, at around 11, we went to bed.
She fell asleep in our bedroom with my poms, so cute.
Then, her Mommy did call, and came to claim her late that night.
Her Mom works late.
She looked happy and relieved she was safe.
My pups and kids were sad to see her go, but we were happy to promote good will!
So, Karma Fairy?
Well, yesterday I was a little extra tired.
I didn't sleep well after she left,
ahem someone was snoring strangely and talking in their sleep...
That and I was restless.
So, I was not running on 100%.
It was a long day, for all of us.
Todd's been kind of stressed with work and was running a bit late.
I had already fed the kids dinner...
So, I offered to go with Todd to Tommy's Hamburgers.
He always wants to go there.
I usually discourage it.
He hasn't been there in MONTHS and months!
It is the little things that get you through, right?
I wasn't going to eat Tommy's though,
so I just went with to keep him company.
Well, apparently, he was just looking too adorable, again,
and I couldn't pay attention to anything,
and I left my purse IN the restaurant.
Can you call Tommy's a restaurant? Not sure.
Either way, not the best place to leave your purse (not that ever leaving it is good).
I didn't even realize I left it until I was getting ready for bed!
I was even thinking, yay, I might be able to get to bed by 10 tonight! (:
Then, panic set in -
I LEFT MY PURSE! UGHGHGHGH!
Everything that was in my purse starts pouring through my mind....
What was the first thing that I was sad that I would never see again.
Not my wallet, even though that is very scary....
This little smiling face!
Todd bought him for me, and I love him.
I take him with me everywhere.
I was so sad I left him, and imagined the torture he was enduring!
There were a few people in the place when we left.
Some strange/creepy looking men, a group of teens that looked like they were on drugs, and a sweet older couple had just entered as we left.
Well, the Karma Fairy directed the sweet older lady to my purse.
She left her phone number with the Tommy's people, and took my purse home with her.
She didn't want to trust it to anyone there, understandably.
So, last night, Kay went with me at 10:30ish to get my purse!
My sweet little Ewok (and everything else) was safe inside!
YAY!
I am so thankful for good people in the world!
and
sometimes...
I believe in the Karma Fairy!
