IRRATIONAL Phobias!

Ok, we ALL have some sort of irrational phobias, at one time or another.
Usually, when we are children, many we outgrow.

One of my biggest irrational phobias as a child
was that an EVIL clown WOULD GRAB me
 from under my bed,
late at night...
You can bet I did not let so much as a finger or toe slip past the edge of my mattress.

(Thank You Poltergeist
Yah, what the CRAP is that about!  Scary, Scary clown...

I, also, have this slight problem
that if I eat any SUGAR or a meal right before bed...
I have HORRIBLE Nightmares, violent, graphic bad...
Ever since I was little, didn't realize  why I had the nightmares when I was little though.
I just know my Mom would always say,
"Tammy, you were screaming on the top of your lungs in your sleep again."
Luckily, I usually didn't remember them, at the time.
As I grew up, I stopped the screaming out loud,
but the nightmares would still happen, if I ate right before bed.
(Luckily, I figured it out)

I had to premise this before sharing my next irrational childhood fear.
So, my nightmares as a child, were childlike nightmares, silly now, really.
But terrifying none the less, at the time.

Well, this one night.
I had watched Scooby Doo that day.
It was the episode that they went to Dracula's Castle.
Did you see it?

Well, that night I dreamt I was with Scooby and gang..
We were at Dracula's Castle
- YES, I was a cartoon character, don't JUDGE me- :p
and Dracula was just about TO Get me and BITE MY NECK!
Seriously, freaked me out.
I woke up terrified!
YES, of cartoon Dracula.. I know. I know..
But for a couple of years,
I did NOT go to sleep without my blanket tightly tucked around my neck.
You know, sure fire defense against Dracula!

So, now...
We are adults, mostly right.
What irrational phobias do adults have?

I think fear of Spiders is common..
It is not normally one of mine.
Imagine YOUR Worst nightmare about Spiders...
Well,  a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to kind of live out one...

Usually, I am not totally freaked by Spiders.

That night...

I was going to take a quick shower before bed.
Todd was away on travel, OF COURSE...
I revel in my showers.
So relaxing to me, perfect before bed...

Turned the shower on...
Water was running.

So tired after such a long day...

and had to pee..

I reach for the toilet paper...

and GRABBED some TP, without looking..

and as I am about to wipe my hoochee-mama

I see a HUGE not as huge as the pic Spider on the paper in my hand!

Seriously, WHAT THE CRAP?!

It was a BIG BLACK Spider.

Sorta like this guy, but blacker and furrier...
EEK

As I threw the paper and it's occupant across the small bathroom,
and toilet paper DOES NOT throw well.
I am sure I screamed so loud the neighbors probably thought I was reenacting a scene from "Psycho".

The CREATURE doesn't just lay there and cower under the paper.
No.. It runs strait toward my bare feet that are straddling the toilet.

and Todd was NOT home..
and I was in no place to battle the Beastly Bug

So, I called for Logan, very passionately....

Logan came to my rescue!
He did mention that my screaming and freaking was
NOT helping him and asked me to leave the room.

Logan Battled Bravely and WON!
 Thank YOU Logan!

Irrational Phobia - I think NOT!

Now...  All I am left thinking is...
Every once in a while....
If I wake up in the middle of the night and have to pee...
I USUALLY don't turn the light on in the bathroom...
Don't want to wake Todd, you know?
What if Mr. Spider had been hiding in the toilet paper then?
OMG - WTC - I could have wiped my HOOCHEE-MAMA  with a Spider?
SHUTTER!!!
Yah, no more midnight pee's in the dark, ever again!!
