Fear factor & Road show...

Always the hustle and bustle around here it seems....

Last night was the 'final' dress rehearsal for the Road Show.
Just as a reminder, the show is this Friday at 7pm.

Practice was at 6pm. Logan didn't get out of track practice until just about 5pm. Kayla came with to pick up Krystin and Logan. Krystin hadn't even been home from school yet, as she went with me to pick up Logan from track directly from school (it ran longer than we expected, hee hee ran longer? get it?!)... Anyhow, by the time we got home it was 5:15 - Logan needed to shower and get dressed. Krystin needed to get dressed, hair, etc as well. We needed to leave the house by 5:40. That meant no dinner for them before practice, which I really dislike. I don't like feeding them late. I quickly got everyone ready, fed Logan a snack, Daddy got home and we were off! PHEW!

I don't want to give tooo much away ahead of time,
but here is the stage.

When we got home everyone was extra hungry. I thought, perfect night for tofu, veggi-stir fry night. They will be so hungry there wont be as many complaints!!! Actually, it did work out that way. Everyone loved it. My girls actually like tofu-stir fry night, but my boys...

Ok, well, when I was shopping at Costco with Todd last weekend we noticed these little diddy's:

I thought, wow those would go great with tofu night!
Todd agreed that he would try them,
even though I could see the reluctance in his face.
I am always excited to try new things!

Everyone tried them. Everyone, except - Kayla. Kayla looked at them and made a sort of vomit-like face... Now, they were definitely not a new favorite, and I am willing to bet I won't buy them again, but ... Kayla's expression made me laugh. Keeping in mind Kayla is hands down the MOST finicky eater I have EVER met EVER, I couldn't resist. I offered her 20 bucks to eat one. I know, that's probably wrong, but if she could eat these little diddys anything is possible.

She agreed to try - and it was on
our first edition of Haser House Fear Factor!

She armed her self with a LARGE glass of water,
some soy sauce and ...

She literally ALMOST threw-up!
We were all laughing so hard.
I told her I would give her 10 bucks for the effort
or she could have 20 bucks if she finished it,
but she gets NOTHING if she PUKES on the table!

She took the 10 and called it a day.

We were actually all SO Amazed with her.
and we couldn't stop laughing...
I don't think I have EVER seen her so brave with food,
even if it did almost end up back on the table.

So, after all that - it was 9pm and kids were just starting their homework.

all to be up before the sun again this morning...

Spa Day for Poochies

It has been a while since the girls were able to have a spa day... Lily is a bit on the shy side, so I was a little worried when I dropped her off. She did nothing to alleviate my concern as she shook violently when I handed her over. I wanted to call and check on her, make sure she was ok, but didn't want to be one of 'those' Doggy Mommys. We have used this groomer numerous times and all has been great each time. So, I toughed it out until they called at 2pm! PHEW!

On the way home.

Ok, I think my Pups are incredibly cute
in the Bows the groomers put in there fur!
Sooo cute!
But, my dogs have ZERO tolerance for them
and usually have the bows off within minutes of coming home...

Sooo.

I thought, well before they get their bows off
and before Lily finds some mud to romp in (which is our white dogs favorite activity, next to trash digging) I would take some pics.

Apparently, Honey needed a minute.

Looks as though Lily is laughing.
(Like, "Ha, Ha Mom's taking your picture.")

Lily, who's laughing now.

Ok, enough - smile for me.
I grabbed some treats.
Determined to get a shot before the bows come out.
and this is the best I could get.

Relaxing at home...
We have been home for 10 minutes.

Lil' Abner

My Mom invited us (Todd, myself, and the children) to attend a performance of Lil' Abner. My Mom's good friend from High School was involved with the production and arranged our seats for us. I had never seen Lil' Abner before, so that was fun. It was actually a 'Children's Theatre' acting group, some 200 children. Amazing! The kids loved it as well! Thanks Mom for inviting us!

It was a bit of a drive - 90 miles

but, for these kids - 90 miles in the car - no problem!

My Mom, also, cleaned out her closet and sent some stuff for the girls to sift through. Both girls are in drama at school, so anything they didn't like they thought would be fun to have for drama class.

They got a kick out of trying on the clothes.

I believe this is a painting outfit, Kayla thought that was too funny!

Bonus: My pups are usually tethered to me by an invisible lead all day. Today I looked around and they were not there???? Where did I find them? Sleeping together, sooo cute, I know.

Doggy - Photo Shoot

There are a lot of O's in that title...

Anyhow, I got to thinking about a few different things. Namely, how beautiful it is outside lately, and how beautiful the flowers are that naturally bloom in my backyard! Really breath-taking. Now is it the years I spent in the desert with just a lone brick wall to tantalize my view outside my window that gave me this extra measure of appreciation??? Who knows. Either way, I have always LOVED flowers and I decided to capture the moment!

So, what better way then to have a doggy photo shoot. I mean my poochies are pretty cute and they were a little jealous that I didn't include them in Valentine's Day pics...

Except, well it just really didn't work out as well as I would have hoped...

First, I tried to get Honey to pose.

"Honey, Look at Mommy."

"Really, over here Honey..."
Silly sounds and whistles followed, to no avail..

"Yay Honey, look at Mom."
No, don't look scared, is it that bad?

I gave up after a few more tries, and thought - Lily loves to have her pic taken! No problem.

"Lily, look up baby."

"Lily stop squinting???"

Oh, I give up.
But the flowers are pretty, right?!

Ok, one last attempt at getting a picture of the pups not looking scared. Maybe, I shouldn't have posed them on the barbeque???

Maybe next time.
