Pursuit of Dog Beds....

The Dogs moved out to Hong Kong, May 5th
With the weather,
we had to send before it got too hot to ship them.

Sadly, their dog beds were too big to send,
Unlike people, they weren't allow luggage.

I had to strap anything I wanted to go
with them on to the kennel.
Which wasn't very much.
Food.
Treats.
Leashes.
That is it.

Well, there are TONS of dogs out here.
I figured finding new dog beds wouldn't be a problem.

Well, even though there is a pet store here.
No dog beds ....
Grrrr..

So, the dogs have been sleeping on pillows,
which they don't really mind.

Pillow bed.
Pretty nice.
But...
When Todd came back for 2 weeks to help finish packing/moving.
Flea season hit hard here and in California really.
Poor Kayla was in Hong Kong
with 2 dogs that in 2 weeks were COVERED in fleas.
SOOOO GROSS!
So horrible.
She wasn't even sure they were fleas.
Apparently, there are many types.
The ones out here are about twice the size of CA ones.
Extra gross.
She did buy flea shampoo and collars,
which helped but didn't get rid of them.
She heard from a local that the best products are in the U.S.
and was told which to get.
So, we brought a bunch with us...
But, it takes about 4-6 weeks to fully break the cycle.
With the medicine they have mostly been gone.
We saw a few baby fleas though and decided.
The dog's beds, pillows, need to be replaced.

The dogs have been here for 2.5 months..
We felt it was time they officially moved in anyhow.

We went down town last night.
 Our goal.
IKEA!
They have pillows for like 2-3 bucks U.S.
Figured we would get a few.
 Time square

Down town is always buzzing with life.
It has such an energy to it!
Always fun to be a part of.

 Darn street side vendors!
This one was even better!
Not only did they have yummy waffles.
They had every flavor of fresh squeezed fruit smoothies (with boba)
for around a 1 dollar U.S.
Pang De (as they say, meaning cheap)
Some of the unusual smoothie flavors.
Celery, cucumber, and other fruits I have never seen or heard of before.
We didn't notice the smoothies until after we ordered the waffles,
and to be honest we had already had dinner, so were too full!
sadness

Oh and it was SUPER HOT!
If you were wondering.
It is always fun walking on the street.
You will be walking down the side walk
and drips of water fall on you.
Yah, apparently, all the tall buildings just above
well their a/c's condensation drips.
Euwww.
Free misting systems?

While we were looking for IKEA,
we found this tiny little pet store on the side of the road.
and found REAL dog beds!!!

We ended up getting two there,
and heading home.

 We had to change trains
(which is normal)
It is nice, because the walkway between the trains is all inside.
Yes.  Air conditioned!
 This hallway is HUGE
and
always used as a giant advertisement.
Currently,
The new Grizzly Gulch land at Disney.
Even the floor is part of the ad.
 Heading home on the metro.
The kids and Todd bought me a new friend
Look at that cute little llama babe!

Oh, and I was a little worried about fleas appearing on the dogs new beds.
So, I read online about putting natural oils on it to repel them.
Well, I think I put too much on them.

They were so excited to see the beds....
They ran to them!

Honey jumped on one.
Sniffed it and ran back to her pillow...

Then I was hopeful about Lily.
 She was REALLY 'Digging it'!
(Get it?)
 This bed too!
Honey didn't even want to look...

then...
A short our later...
 Lily, too soon enough...
The pillows will magically disappear tonight...
