Coming to a close...

This has been an eventful last few days...

Ok, for me it was a little just off...
Car issues - yuck...
Sleeplessness causes you to not think at 100%
Just one of many examples, Lost my keys...  Then found them after a frantic search as we were trying to run out the door, thanks Kay for the suggestion of where to look. Yah, in the car...  On the driver's seat.  Maybe, I should have left a note too???

What makes the down side of up brighter for you?

Around here?

A little snuggle bug! (:

A personal Lorikeet forest??

For some of us a monkey?

Sweet friends at League Prelims.
Even though you (Krystin) have been coughing up a lung all night/day...

Sweet smiles.

A buddy to share the small patch of shade with, for the 5 hours in 94 degree heat.

Sweet kids that are happy to come say,  "Hi" to You and each other.

Kayla, graciously, demonstrating how high the fence is,
so everyone can have an appreciation for why it is hard to video over it.

Teams...

Even kids that insist on worrying me that they will break their legs!
Still makes me smile, because they do it TOGETHER!

Prelims
(not a typical Haser-kid race day)
Krystin and Logan both had two events
It was SO HOT!  So HOT!
and
Logan got sick after his mile, and was tripped at the beginning.
Puked and could hardly walk after the race.
He has NEVER gotten sick after running in the heat before...
(Yet, still end up as a an alternate for finals in the mile)
and
Second event he was still not doing super,
but wanted to give it his all - last race and all.
But, the poor guy's legs gave out as he crossed finish line.... :(
Crrr-plunk on his face..... (really freaked me out)
He was DONE.
Never has that happened before either?!
and
Krystin gave it her ALL for her race, even amidst coughing...
(Just as a side note, when I had the cough my lungs hurt
so badly I couldn't stand it walking up the steps)
And she still ended up 3rd in her heat,
but there were four heats (11th overall, top 9 go to finals),
so she is an alternate for finals in the 400 (which is still amazing).
Honestly, her time was WAY off.
When she is on her game, we looked at the times
and she would have been in the top 2-3 overall.
Honestly, I was AMAZED she did SO well!
Who can sprint and run while coughing?
She is AWESOME!

Here is a short video of her finishing 3rd, she hit the turbo charge at the end!
Watch her pass other girls at light speed.

Her second event was the 200 (1/2 a lap super fast) and she did amazing!
Only slightly off her PR.
She is an alternate for that race as well!

Logan & Krystin we are SO PROUD of what Excellent Athletes You two are!
Not just because of your successes,
but because of your character when others are successful.
Immediately after their races,
even though they did not do as well as they had hoped,
they both separately, and individually, expressed to me -
How happy and excited they were for their close friends that did well in their races.
There was no talk about self-pitty or jealousy,
just positive feelings for their friends.
What great character you two have,
and more than any race against a clock in life,
Who you are defines you, and I couldn't be MORE PROUD! (:

I am also SUPER Proud of a loving big Sister, that endured HOURS of heat, sun, sitting in the grass with allergies and lets not forget -bugs- to cheer on her sibs!  If you know Kayla, this was a huge sacrafice, and shows how much she loves them.  I appreciated the company too!  You have great character as well Kayla, and I am proud of You too.

So, even though Prelims were a bit rough, it was still a good day!
League finals are on Friday.
Krystin does have one more race the 4 x400 (no prelim for that one)
and they are both alternates for races, but for now Krystin's 4x400 is the last race of the season.
We can't wait to cheer her on! (:
YAY!

One last thing that made me smile!
Surprise flowers from my True Love...
Todd, Thank You!  I love YOU!

Todd comes home from Hong Kong tomorrow, and it can't be soon enough!
(:

Finally, I need a nap! :P
