Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to Everyone! (:

We had a wonderful weekend as a family, and enjoyed the fact that our sweet teens -
aren't too big for sugar cookies, dying eggs, egg hunts, and Easter baskets!

We did squeeze a track meet in last week, too.
Logan couldn't stop coughing and still did great!
Krystin was awesome too!
Kayla was there too!
Black and Yellow (our school colors)
 Our track.
Our team doing the warm-up lap before meet.
Big team.
 I was 'working' this meet.
I was asked to help time the races.
4 hours - a bit nerve racking, but fun!
and I did have a great view of the races.

 All-in-all - a great meet.
One more dual this week,
then - League Prelims and Finals next week.
Krystin has already been selected to compete in 4 events!
(the boys team hasn't made choices yet)
We were so happy that Daddy could be there!
I did try to get a video, but apparently I can't cheer, run and video at the same time.
Yah, it was kind of sad...

Back to Easter.

Todd bought me Easter roses! (:
I love THEM!
 We all dyed eggs together.
We were tempted to dye Lily too, since she was so interested,
but decided against it!

The Eater Bunny did in FACT come to our house,
and hid eggs!
Honey and Lily were on it - ready to help the kids find them!
Oh, and the kids did get baskets!

The kids had a fun time finding eggs!
In our house the bunny always writes their initials on the eggs and leaves them a note on how many to find, so Easter is always happy.
(when they were tiny the EB would leave them specific colors to find)

Per Todd's idea - we took the kids on a picnic.
at first it was a bit rainy, but we had umbrellas so were prepared.
but, the clouds cleared and it was a beautiful afternoon.

My silly Monkey butts!

Our Easter was concluded with a late night trip to LAX.
This project Todd is on is always an adventure.
They don't actually issue him a ticket ahead of time (which un-nerves me).
The client is an airline, and would prefer to have him fly standby...
So, if there is a seat available, he gets it...
However, LAX is 55 miles from our house...
and...
They are the ONLY airline that flies direct from LAX to Hong Kong....
So, their flights are always PACKED and oversold!
We always leave the house not knowing if he will get on the flight, unnerving!
The upside - if a Business class seat is available - HE Gets it!
If you are unfamiliar with bus. class check this out here
So far, some how - he has been LUCKY each time, and flown business class!
Usually we get there and they say - Flight is oversold we will try and get you on the flight (lucky to be on economy even), and then magically the connecting flight to that flight doesn't make it, or like last night someone didn't check in on time and he gets business class!  Crazy.  He doesn't usually know though until 45 mins before the plane takes off (and still has to go through security and get to gate)...  So, I can't leave him there until I KNOW he is actually on the flight, makes it a bit crazy...
(and the flights leave at 1150pm and then at 135am)
We were home about 1am last night...
Another guy; that is on the project, was flying out of JFK couldn't get on 5 flights (over 30 hours at the airport) - all were full, and then finally just bought a ticket to get out to HK.
Todd has been very lucky indeed.
So you know, this is supposed to be his last flight out there - end of this phase.

Oh the fun! (:
Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend,
and excuse me if I am a little pouty for the next couple weeks, as my Todd is gone. :(

Smoking fast Kids

I have been meaning to post all week, but could NOT find my silly camera cord since returning home...  Found it today! YAY~ it kind of was still in my suit case, yah... (:

It has been a BUSY week.....
(aren't they all though, really?)
So, just the highlights..

Well, and this is a pic of Todd in the Hotel the day I left him in Hong Kong for home:

When he isn't at work, he is working on his laptop.
It was sooo nice to get a weekend to play with him in Hong Kong (while we were out).
No phones, no computers, just us...

After he came home, the day after I did...
I was so exhausted all weekend, and was not feeling well by Monday.
I caught some sort of bug (probably on the plane - everyone was coughing, grrr)...
So, I was able to go to the doctor TWICE this week to try and get rid of this dumb cough...
Still coughing, but have much more energy!
Anyhow, that isn't a highlight, more like a lowlight, but part of the week none-the-less!

Highlights - TRACK
There were two Track meets this Week!

The first was on Weds.
It was SOOO COLD!  We were freezing.
Mid 60's with a breeze prob 50s...

See I wasn't exaggerating - Todd is always working,
but he was THERE! (:
Lo had two races
and Krystin had 4! (the max you are allowed)

See the yellow headband?
Not only a cute accessory,
Not only practical in keeping hair out of your face,
but MOST importantly - makes it easier to spot Krystin!

It was kind of hard to get good pics of the kids running in toward the finish line,
due to the angle of the sun...

Krystin ran two relays a 4x100m and a 4x400 meter
here she is waiting for the pass off with the 4x100

here she is crossing the finish line,
after the second relay4x400
Yes, FIRST

Logan getting ready for one of his two races
(He ran the 800m and 4x400 relay)
 800m (2 laps)
 1st lap - he's in a tight second
rounding the corner of the second lap -
he hits the turbo button
and..
Finishes 1st - with no one close behind...
between races Logan came and said Hello to us.
With 4 races, Krystin just hung out on the field in the ready
remember - Look for Yellow Head band

It is fun to see the two of them working together as a team.

or even just in the same place...
(see both of them?)

Krystin's 'thing' is the 400meter
This girl is smoking at that event!

READY
(yellow-head-band)
Set
GOOOO...
They couldn't touch her - 1st PLACE!

This was only Logan's second Relay
Relays are intense to me.
So, easy to get disqualified.  Drop the baton, step out of your lane.
Almost every race we see someone get DQ'd...
Getting ready for the 4x400m (he'd never even run a 400m before)
 The hand off.
Look who is right there (hint - yellow head band)
and a respectable finish, wow!
My favorite part of track, besides seeing my children having fun running:
The after race hug!
Such sweet kids!

Kayla was off Swash-buckling, as I call it!
She calls it sword fighting, but really they look like pirates to me...
Cute pirates, not the toothless, dirty sort.
Anyhow, it was an amazing race, long day, and the kids wanted a Jamba!
So, after grabbing Kay, dropping Daddy off to 'really work'
They had a Jamba date!

Thursday and Friday Krystin was a BIT under the weather and running a low-grade fever...  This kid is die hard though...  She was invited to run in the OC Champs race on Saturday, only a few athletes were invited to run.  Logan was sad to miss out, but he missed the previous Thursday meet, and the entries were based on that one...  But, was happy to support his sis in the TWO races she was entered into!

The meet was local (YAY)
and my Mom was able to come (yet, somehow she seemed to escape my camera?)
But the weather ...  Oh the weather....
I was told it was over 100 at the hottest part of the day...
Uhm, bipolar much weather?
Cold and freezing on Weds, and death heat on Sat?
Poor runners, and Krystin was still not 100%...
But she didn't even complain and was amazing!

Her first event was just before noon, and was the 400meter
She did awesome and beat her PR (personal record!)
So HOT!  All the runners looked like death after running

Her next race wasn't until 4:45pm and I didn't want her to overheat,
so we headed back home for a bit to let her cool off,
hung out with Mom for a bit, said our good byes to Grama ...
then back to the heat!

Thank HEAVENS for this beach umbrella...
I would have died sitting in the sun for the couple hours we were there.
Thanks for holding it Todd! (:
 Krystin's final race was a 4x400 relay.
She hadn't ever run with this group of girls before.
But they did great! Competition was SO TOUGH!
Waiting for her turn to get the baton.
Krystin always ends up being the anchor for some reason.
Which just means she is the last one to get the baton (of the 4 girls) and bring it home.
the pressure...

You would never know she wasn't feeling well.

It was awesome!
and then after all day in the sun and racing...
She and Logan went to a 16th Birthday Dance party for a teammate til 10pm...
They both had blisters on their feet today!
Kay went on a Mommy-Daddy-Kayla date. (:

Bonus:  I know this post isn't long enough? Right?
But aren't they cute?
It was a busy week like I said, and my kids didn't even realize they had a half day Thursdsay...
All three were genuinely surprised to find that out during school on Thurs!
So funny...  Well, not many half days that they will be able to share in high school together left,
so they had some crepe's to celebrate... (:
