Chinese New Year!

We were a bit busy during Chinese New Year, but were lucky to be invited to meet with some friends for dinner two of the nights.

The first night we were able to explore a new area of Hong Kong that we hadn't been too before.  There are very rural areas where they have 'Village houses'.   It was fun to check out the 'village'.

As an aside - it was VERY crowded everywhere downtown, because of the holiday.

Luckily, we didn't have plans downtown.
We took a bus with a beautiful view.

When we arrived to our destination, we went on an unintended extended adventure!

 We just kept walking.
It was a beautiful afternoon, btw.

 We saw some interesting sights.
This house below smelled like a million cats and dogs went potty in there and it was never cleaned ever, not once.  AWFUL.  You could hear their protest too.

Krystin took a moment to reconnect with friends.

 and we kept walking

Todd decided maybe we should call our friends.

Logan was determined to find someone to ask, and ran to the other side of the bridge.

and ran back

KC and I were enjoying the wind..

Then, shortly there after our friend appeared on Bike to guide us to his place!  YAY!

Apparently, lots of new houses are going up in the village.

I should have gotten pics of dinner.
It was awesome. Lots of different types of Chinese food.  SO MUCH food.  All delicious, and they were very kind and made it without MSG.  Yes, we are now those people.  You know the ones.  The ones that have 'special' dietary requests when they come over...

The bus ride home was crowded.
Krystin was able stay connected though.

Honey and Lily were a little sad about being left.

The next night we were meeting at Discovery Bay (AKA land of the foreigners).
So, to make it more appropriate we were having Pizza.  Ha!

Todd was torn about this decision, but he LOVES Pizza so it was OK.

Discovery Bay

Can you find Logan?

Yes.  DBay is beautiful and only 20 mins from us.

We had an awesome night.  Once again SHOULD have gotten pics with the food and friends, but didn't...

We were having a friend come over the next morning, so I was distracted.
Since the kids' friend that was coming over was male, we had Kay stay at our flat, which delighted Lily.  The friend stayed with Logan in the other flat, and all was proper and good.

Awe - what a good foot warmer she is.
