One HECK of a DAy...

It is never a good sign when you get up early, get in the car to drive kids to school and think, "WOW my car smells BAD?!"  What the heck....  I mean I had JUST cleaned it out the night before, and it didn't smell then!  Then you go home and think - what is the DEAL the house smells terrible tooo...  YUCK..

Then, you realize after an hour, and a small black spot on the floor that the dogs are attentively sniffing - that yes, it is not the car, it is not the house, but your shoe!!!  I must have stepped on doggy-doo and was too tired to even think of it - GROSSSS!!!  - I am thankful we have TILE!!!!

Now, if this happens to you, God forbid, just go back to bed and call it a day...  Really....

...  I Didn't call it a day ...
After all, today was Cross Country League Finals!!!
The final race of the season for the team!!!

Super exciting!

One problem...
Crazy heat streak today -
At the time the kids were to race it was 105 degrees!!!
These kids are NOT use to temps like that.   It was just FREEZING the last couple weeks....
There were concerns about the safety of the race in the heat, so after the kids left for the meet at 11ish, and were sitting on the lawn by 11:30, they rescheduled the races from 12-5 (with 8 races between boys and girls), to only 2 races at 4:30 and 5pm...   Yes, they combined 4 races into one.  All the girls ran together, and then all the boys...  And it was still right about 100 degrees when the girls ran, and now the kids had been sitting outside in the heat for 5 hours... Not the best plan.   I pushed our kids to drink like crazy - I think Logan said he drank close to 4 gallons (he has a 1/2 gallon cooler)  and Krystin drank 11 water bottles.

Still, it was too hot, too stressful, and too long of a day!!!
GRRR.

Poor Krystin, she did an awesome Job - Heat, puke and all.
But, while Logan was running, apparently an overly concerned first aid person thought Krystin was having a medical crisis (she is fine), just feeling a little overwhelmed with the race, heat and such -
and the school called 911.  Hello! I was on the other side of the track!
Don't ask.
She is totally fine....
After the paramedics and firefighters left we went back to team stuff.

- Remember - poo on the shoe go back to bed!

Logan by the way was INCREDIBLE!!!
He was the 29th  boy in out of all the Varsity, Junior Varsity,
Sophomores, and Freshman in the league!!!
The bummer part was, since they ran so late, and everyone was glommed together they didn't do a special 'award' recognition for anyone other than Varsity.
They couldn't even pass out medals,  they need to sort out the race data!
Logan had to leave empty handed, but we know something is coming his way!!! (:

Great Job Logan & Krystin!!!
and Krystin I am glad you are feeling better!

Ok...   So, by now it is almost 8pm, kids are starving and we get dinner.
Seems the day is getting a little better! (:
Dinner was nice, peaceful, no complaints...

Then we get home ---
I am NOT kidding - we hear the hissing of what sounds like a SNAKE!
Nope - just my rear driver's side tire!
It has some HUGE metal thing sticking out of it and quickly spilled all the air out of itself into the oblivion....  Glad we paid for the insurance...

Oh....  and we finally get home, and it is now just past 9pm...
Just to realize SHUTE we were supposed to get a prescription from the pharmacy that closed at 9.
So the pursuit of a 24 hour pharmacy that will fill it takes 'til 11:30...

- pooh + shoe = bed -

and of course...
Todd has an meeting in LA tomorrow morning,
so can't really help with the tire til tomorrow afternoon....
and we are two cars down (todd being gone and all)...

Yah...  It was a long day...

So, conclusion, remember - POOOH on the Shoe ='s go back to bed!

You know I am kidding right?
I am just thankful all the annoyances are just annoyances, and everything worked out...
Although, I do need a new pair of shoes...

I will post pics from race tomorrow. and hopefully will know results too...
