Track Finals/ LEAGUE CHAMP!

What an amazing Season!

Kids were healthy and mostly injury FREE!  
That in and of itself is a reason to celebrate, really!


PRELIMS


Logan and Krystin both qualified for League Prelims
Logan in the Varsity 800 meter
Krystin in the 400, 200, 4x400 and Pole Vault 
(your exhausted just thinking about that many events, right?)


Prelims were on May 1st Tuesday after lunch.
We arrived at the meet at 12:45pm, left at 7:30pm... LONG DAY!
Krystin was scheduled to Jump for Pole Vault at 3pm.
Her next event, HER EVENT, the 400 was to be at 4:30p
Well, they scheduled her to jump in the second flight of Pole Vaulters (each flight takes about an hour), so it clashed with her MAIN event.  She asked to change to the first flight, but was told that she couldn't and to come back after the 400 it would be fine.


She Took first in the 400 overall (there were three heats)
Ran strait over to pole vault, but they had just closed the event...
She was VERY SAD...


But really, she missed out on Pole Vault and took first in the 400,
still pretty awesome!


She qualified for Finals in the 200 as well.

4x400 goes strait to finals, no prelim.


Logan was awesome in his race too and qualified for Finals,
 as an alternate.

FINALS


Finals took place just three days later on Friday...
and
To make things more fun...
They started at 4:30pm...
Krystin and Logan's take zero period.
They have to be at school around 6:30am...
Krystin's last event was at 8:40pm...


Talk about a burn out schedule,
and they are racing against the TOUGHEST competition all year!
The fastest of the fastest....

Perfect weather though!
Really, one of the best weather days this season!
It was SOOO cold at the last meet,
Krystin requested running pants.

So she just walked around like this, really she did.

 Kayla tried to balance Krystin's silliness out with her own.
Yes, she walked around with a critter on her head. HA!
I love that my kids don't care what anyone thinks! LOL!

She got a new PR!

She wanted to break 60, and technically her feet did, 

but they judge by when your chest crosses the finish.

60.01 (yes, only 100th of a second off!)

Actually less than 0.3 secs off the all time record for this meet (set in 1980)!

She hadn't even caught her breath and they were interviewing her!

 She was very motivated,
because Logan was Sophomore League Champion in XC!

Ok, the kids friends are silly too! Love it!
