New Years Eve - 2009

Here is to a wonderful ~ 2010 ~

Since we went to the snow for Christmas Eve, we figured -
Hey, we should go to the beach for New Years Eve.
.
For the record, if there were a competition where I would rather be ...
Mountains or Beach
While I love both very much
.
The Beach would win
.
Another beautiful day
about 70 degrees, with a slight breeze
perfect.

We had a picnic, of course.
apparently the seagulls felt we should share
they actually flew above us and grabbed some food...
RUDE little buggers.

well it is their off season

I love this beach

everywhere you look - amazing

beautiful tide pools too
and a Pelican (huge Pelican)

Even with a big rock for the boy to climb

A brief tour

Bonus: for Todd, because it made him laugh

crack kills? Isn't that what you say Todd?

- Ok, now to get ready to party - we are having an 80's movie night party, just the 5 of us!. We are stoked! Like totally!

A Beautiful Day - Part 2

My favorite part is the kid in the background screaming in terror...

A Beautiful Day....

I find nature just breath taking. I love nothing more than to spend a day outside, exploring with my family. . .
.
.
Kayla - I love you...

Logan- I love you too!

Krystin - I love you my sweet baby!

Never too old to have fun feeding the geese:

Hey Mr. Goose - You are HUGE!

I love that my kids smile for me!

and pretend to be mystified by the fairies in the trees.

and are sooo sweet...

Thanks for being so cute!

Thank you to Todd too, for always being willing to go on adventures with me.

.
Life would be boring and sad with out each and every one of you, my family...

Christmas Eve

First off, Merry Christmas!!!

.
.
We decided it would be fun to go play in the snow for Christmas Eve.
You know, appreciate our beautiful Earth.
.
There is a ski/snow resort about an hour away (perfect - not too long of a drive).
I checked snow report - it said Mt. Baldy - Snow - Yes!
(updated 3 hours previously mind you)
.

Well, apparently, it has been a little 'warm' and there wasn't very much snow, which meant the roads were totally safe (no ice).
.
Don't get me wrong it was 40 degrees - we were cold, but it was a blast.
An incredibly beautiful day...

The lure of snow was strong.

.
but, you had to climb a snow free mountainous path to get there.
See below, notice the snow lift in full operation?
Our kids are tough, they said why pay 100 bucks for a lift to the top, when we can walk it!
.
Despite the higher elevation, and oxygen deprivation.
.
I believe Logan sprinted.

the path

At first Todd and I thought, good for you kiddos, have fun.
We will just watch you guys.

off they go

Honey gave us guilt, she wanted to go too.

Bugger. Can't see them anymore, better follow.
.
As we pursued our offspring, to assure their safety,
I began to worry about my own...
boy am I out of shape!!!
.

but we made it, with the poochies of course.
They hadn't seen snow before.

They really loved it.

Kids loved it too!

.
and we made it down the hill safely - phew!
.
Dogs got their own, free, 'lift service'

love this pic
.
and kids found more snow at the bottom
.
Logan threw snow(ice) balls at his sisters

.
Lily struck a pose.

.
Kids turn

.
then we had a picnic lunch and headed out
.
Lily was passed out within minutes - a good doggy bye-bye day...

On the way home we saw the story of Jesus' life depicted along the side of the road.
A great reminder for the eve of Christ's birth...

Happy Birthday Jesus!!!
We Love you!
