Krystin's GCA Band Audtition

Krystin will be attending Gilbert Classical Academy next year with her sister (and brother too). She had to audition for the band class that she will be in. She was very excited/nervous about it. The audition was at 7am this morning (Fri 2/29). Keep in mind Krystin is our child that we CANNOT wake up for anything. It usually takes all of us to get her out of bed by 7:30am, and today she had to be up by 5:30am. She did it though and we are very proud of her. Go Krystin!

Krystin with GCA Band Director Mr. Delfing

She is too funny - At GCA they wear uniforms, and Krystin borrowed Kayla's GCA uniform shirt for the audition. You know to feel 'official' while auditioning. Yep, that is our Krysto-bug. (o;

Dinner at the Hasers

Ok, so we thought you might be wondering what a dinner at the Haser house would be like. Well, here's a little glimpse.

Yes, Our bird Indy has her own chair at the dinner table!

She loves to feel like she is part of the family!

Say Cheese Indy! Smile!

Taco night happens to be Indy's favorite!
She loves corn and veggies.

It is always interesting in our house for sure!!

First Day of Pageant Practice!!

Yesterday (Sat. Feb 23rd) was the first day of Pageant practice. We were a little worried that Todd wouldn't make it back to Phoenix on time. He was due to fly home on the 5:45pm flt Friday night from CT (out of NY), but there was a Severe Weather warning in effect. He was fortunate to be able to change his flight to a 9:45am flt (Friday Morning). He still had to sit on the run way in the plane for 3 hours before taking off (they had to de-ice the plane!), but made it safely home. His original flight ended up being canceled! Wow, that was a close one. You can't miss one pageant practice or your out!
Then, Saturday morning we were to be at the stage first thing and Kayla woke up with her face all swollen & totally miserable! Poor sweet thing. I (Tamara) ran her to urgent care, while Todd took Kryst and Logo to the Pageant. Kayla was given a script for some antibiotics and we joined them there, just in time. It was really neat to see a lot of people from last year, get our costumes and be able to take part of this great pageant again. I did feel badly for the kids as we were on our feet and in the sun most of the day. Logan wasn't feeling super great yesterday either. )o: Amazingly, I didn't hear one complaint from the kids - they were just happy to be able to participate. What truly amazing kids!

Here are some pics from yesterday:

Logan's Costume

Krystin in our tent trying on her costume (and then outside with it on). Did I mention we bring a tent to hang out in between scenes? Believe it or not I set the tent up (with some help from the kids). Well, I was impressed with myself! (o;

Mom with kiddos in the tent. I will have to take a pic of my costume at some point too.

Our tent. Exciting, I know! Feel like you were there?

Caiaphas the bearded man himself on a short break.

Kayla Love in her Costume! How cute is that?!

We will be practicing, roughly, Tuesday - Saturday nights from approx 5:30p-10p until Easter. We have to be there at 5:30p for Todd to get his make-up and costume on. His costume is kept under lock and key. (o; I will post updates throughout that time.

A beautiful day at the Zoo

Kayla, Logan & Krystin Goofing around

Can You find the monkeys in the tree house???

Kids posing with the cute bird sign.

Kayla, Logan - How did you get your sister in that tree?!

Can you see the monkey in the background?

So much fun!

They trusted me to drive this thing with my three kids!!

I took the kids to the zoo today and it could not have been a more beautiful day!!! The weather was perfect! Yeah! The kids and I had such a fun time. We were going to rent a little peddle boat and go on the lake, but apparently my kids are too big for one boat now (and not old enough for two). So, we rented a 4 peddle bike thing and toured around the zoo. Really fun!

Welcome to the Haser Happenings Blog

Ok, I thought it would be fun to start a blog to share the exciting goings on in the Haser house, especially since most of our friends and family live in other states. Also, I figured now would be a perfect time, as we are preparing to start practicing for the Easter Pageant. My plan is to sort of online journal the experience as it unfolds. (o;

Currently, Todd is flying to NY to drive to CT to work on site from now until Friday night. I believe the high out there was about 35 degrees F today in CT, while here it was in the 60's- really beautiful!! He is to return Friday night about 10pm (ish) and we have our first practice for the pageant at 8am on Saturday... I am just hoping that his plane is not delayed or we will have some problems. Aaahh. Either way, practice is from 8am-4pm on Saturday and he should be pretty crispy.

The kids have a half day tomorrow and I am planning on kidnapping them and making them go to the zoo to play with me!! HEE HEE HEE!!! I will take pics!

We were going through the garage the week before last and I came across my old prom dress. Kayla wanted to try it on. I think she looks just darling in it! I still can't believe I have a child that is old enough to fit into my old dress!

In January, I went on a trip with Logan and his performing art's school (3 days in the cold and snow). It was a blast, but I am absolutely not used to the cold! They had me lead a hike in the snow. Our goal was to find the big rock, which Logan is standing on in the picture! We felt pretty accomplished by the time we found it (and we didn't lose anyone down the side of the mountain thankfully).

Krystin's current passion is playing her flute! She LOVES her flute and is planning on trying out for honor's band in the coming weeks. I am always so impressed with her diligence with practicing.

Angel (the Malamute), Jenna (the Black Lab), and Honey (the Pomeranian) Hanging together in the front yard, while we clean out our garage.

Oh, and we have two of our 9 pets that are having health issues!! )o: Poor babies. Our Red Lory, Lolly, has been sick since around December, we have had her at the vet a couple of times and are currently trying different meds to help her, so far nothing much is working. Then our Alaskan Malamute, Angel, some how magically hurt her front right leg. They have done x-rays and given her meds and nothing has helped so far (it has been two weeks). We just saw the vet again today and now we are having tons of blood work done on the poor dog. Hopefully, we will figure out what is going on with her and fix her too.

Here's a pic of Lolly this evening. She wasn't feeling super great and has been sleeping in her happy hut more than usual. She stuck her head out and blew me a kiss, so I snapped a quick picture. Poor Lolla-baby!! Hopefully, these new meds will help her.

Ok, I will update soon with Easter Pageant Practice pics (hopefully). Love to everyone!
