Track and such...

We have had a lot of sickness over here!  ENOUGH already, really.   Krystin had a sinus infection that progressively got worse over a couple of weeks.  We finally brought her in, got her on some antibiotics, nothing still a mess.  We went back got some stronger antibiotics and FINALLY she was better.....  Then Kay was sick, she is finally getting better...  And now Logan, who NEVER gets colds has it...  Poor Kiddos.  I love you guys, but PLEASE don't breathe on me....

Well, Todd started his new job last week.  Last week was orientation in Chicago.  We sure missed him A LOT!  Kayla had her first performance on the Capo stage, and Krystin was sick, and still had track tryouts, and soooo much more.  My head is still spinning from last week.  This week, aside from illness has been better, and Todd has been working locallyish.  I mean does a 2 hour drive one way count as local?  Sure compared to Chicago.

Well, as for Track.  We have decided that Logan is a machine!  He is not human really.   (;  Too amazing to be human.   Anyhow, every single tryout he has had in Track or Cross Country they have given him a time he had to meet or beat.  Every single time he paces himself to cross the finish on the last possible second.  No joke.  No clue how he does it.   Show off.   :p

The girl's track team for long distance is a little different.  If you were in the top 30 Cross Country runners out of 80 you are automatically in.  Well, Krystin was, so she knew she was on the team without trying out.  Which, considering she couldn't even walk without her head pounding for 3 weeks prior to tryouts was a good thing.  However, long distance track was NOT Krystin's goal.  She wanted short distance sprints.   She decided she was going to just go for it and tryout, even though she hadn't been on the second set of antibiotics for even 24 hours yet, and hadn't trained for weeks because her head hurt so badly.   Her coach told me while she was warming up.  Everyone wants to be a sprinter.  Very few people are sprinters.  It isn't about wanting it.  It is about having natural ability.  Essentially, bracing me for the fact that there is NO WAY Krystin will make it.  I teased her that she would make it, but on the dot like her brother...   Sure ENOUGH, cut off for 100yds for fresh girls 14.6seconds and that is exactly what she got.   Her coach looked SHOCKED.   Only 3 freshmen girls out of the entire school (1000 freshman approx) made the team, and none of the 35 from Cross Country.   She is SO excited and has been training hard.  It was crazy to watch the tryouts.   We can't wait to see the great things she will do in Track.  Track is her love, she joined Cross Country to prepare for Track.  And if that girl can make the time after not training for 3 weeks and being sick, I can't even imagine the things she will do well!  (:

Krystin and Logan we can't wait to see you run this season!!!

Kayla's Performance

Kayla's Advanced Drama Class had a performance last night.  1-11-11...  Nice!   It was a compilation of many different skits and monologues. This is Kayla's skit.

The scene is about two sisters.  Becca (Kayla) who is the older and together sister, and Izzy (Sam) is younger and has a history of being out of control.   To set the stage.  Becca is married and recently lost her 5 year old son. The son died after Izzy called Becca in a crisis and the boy was hit by a car as Becca was distracted.

The quality is bad, but you get the idea...

Hollywood

Krystin had her first Hollywood Audition on Monday!
It was for Adidas Running shoes.
They were looking for authentic long distance runners, which she is!(:
She had a LOT of fun.

waiting at Plaster Casting in Hollywood
Filling out her information to receive her first Hollywood audition barcode.
Since we were down in Hollywood at 4pm,
and we have never taken the kids on  a tour of the
"Star Walk", we decided to make a night of it.
Harry Potter signatures.

We walked up and down the street looking at all the names
and all the 'look a like' actors!
It was awesome!

Then, since it was dinner time -
We had dinner at Hard Rock for the full experience.
They had this cool new feature- a touch screen video juke box at the table.

Bonus:  Logan worked hard on making a "Mole" for extra credit in his Chemistry class over winter break.

The first one was  so cute - he made it a friend.  Yes, I helped - a little.
